Update!!! – Tyler Perry Reacts To False Report Claiming Actress Cassi Davis Died

Tyler Perry has used social media to dispel a major myth that has some people rather heated up. There’s been a couple of claims and YouTube videos that say actress Cassi Davis died of lung cancer. Before the bogus claims could propagate even more, Perry promptly wrote a post to instantly take them down. This Monday, the filmmaker who has worked with Davis on a few films and shows including Tyler Perry’s House of Payne along with the Madea franchises stated on Instagram.

Tyler wrote;

“After I’ve gotten several calls from people giving me their condolences and I didn’t know what they were talking about, I was sent this article that’s going around. I don’t know how she could have died and nobody told me or her. So I called her and asked her was she dead and she said hell no! Can whoever is responsible for this please stop you better be careful when you speak death over a child of God,” Perry said over a fake article where he slapped the word “FAKE” over it. “This woman is loved by millions and you’re hurting a lot of people. Cassi is fine living her best life with no worries, no cares, no social media, and no drama. She’s waiting to shoot the next season of House of Payne.”

Perry posted a screenshot of Cassi Davis’ death story that was trending on Google on his Instagram Stories. “See how lies can trend!!” he said as the post’s caption. God bless us all.

Update – American actress Cassie Davis’s Death Hoax

Social media users have responded to the news of Cassie Davis’s passing. There is debate online about whether she is still alive or not because of conflicting reports. Meanwhile, Palmer Williams Jr., an American stage and television actor, best known for his roles as Floyd Jackson on both Tyler Perry’s House of Payne and the sitcom Love Thy Neighbor, released a video on his Instagram account stating that Cassie Davis is alive and well.

Sharon Ross, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Founder at House of Refuge Outreach TC wrote on giant social media Facebook stating that her sister Cassie Davis is not dead. Sharon wrote;

This is from the sister of Cassie Davis:

Look here!! My sister is not dead; in fact, she is doing well and living life to the fullest!!! Please stop posting and sharing all this foolishness!! I’m telling you.. you don’t want a reply from her because it won’t be pretty!! She doesn’t have FB but her family and her friends do.. so stop trying us because we do not play about HER!!! Get your facts straight before posting death posts!! We take this seriously and true to heart!! Here me.. find somebody else to play with!! This is so not me to make this type of post but I don’t play about my SISTER!

Cassie Davis Death – An American actress Cassie Davis, best known for her role as Ella Payne on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne and its spin-off series The Paynes sadly passed away on February 4, 2023, according to reactions on social media. Cassie’s cause of death was made known to be lung cancer. She is also known as Betty Ann “Aunt Bam” Murphy in the Madea franchise since 2010. She has starred in several other productions under the direction of Tyler Perry.

Cassie Davis’s Life and career

Davis, who was born in Holly Springs, Mississippi, on July 31, 1964, studied music at Spelman College in Atlanta. She quit college after only completing one credit because she was prohibited from playing any religious music at her senior recital. In order to finish her degree, Davis returned to Spelman in 2008, receiving her diploma in November of that year. She has stated that the primary factor in her success as a professional is her fervent, newly-found Christian faith.

In 1988, Davis made his acting debut as a supporting part in the Spike Lee comedy movie School Daze. She made guest appearances on Living Single, Married… with Children, Kenan & Kel, and The PJs in her early television career. She established her acting career by appearing in Tyler Perry productions such as Madea’s Family Reunion, Madea Goes to Jail, Daddy’s Little Girls, Madea’s Big Happy Family, and Boo! A Madea Halloween and A Madea Family Funeral.

In the TBS sitcom Tyler Perry’s House of Payne from 2007 to 2012, Davis played the character Ella Payne, for which she is most known. For her work, she was given two NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series. She starred in the Oprah Winfrey Network spinoff of House of Payne called The Paynes in 2018. A second season of House of Payne was scheduled by BET for 2020.

On January 11, 2017, Davis wed her longtime partner Kerry Patton; the two had been seeing each other since 2007. In an interview, Cassi ruled out suffering a stroke and stated that she was given a Bell’s Palsy diagnosis in March 2020.
