Northampton, PA – Cindy Miles, PT, Ph.D., 68, of Moore Township, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. Cindy died after a private battle with cancer. She was a clinician, successful private practice owner, and educator. Cindy and her husband, Dave, celebrated 46 years of marriage. Born August 17, 1954, in Shamokin, she was the daughter of Edward and Catherine (Yost) Mrowka. Cindy worked as a physical therapist for many years.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by daughters, Kristy and husband, Bryan, and Marcy; granddaughter, Abby; and brother, Edward Mrowka, and wife, Carol. A Celebration of Life service will be held later in the year.

She founded the APTA Pediatrics Annual Conference and held the position of president of APTA Pediatrics for two terms. She also held numerous other positions within the Academy, including those of APTA Pediatrics Treasurer, Chair & Vice Chair of the Pediatric Sports-Fitness SIG, and Manuscript Reviewer for Pediatric Physical Therapy. She participated in the APTA’s Sports Section, Private Practice Section, and Pennsylvania Chapter, as well as the Movement System Task Force, FiRST Council, Movement System Summit, Payment Policy & Advocacy Committee, and State Government Affairs Medicaid Workgroup. Cindy was actively involved in the Lehigh Valley community while serving as the Director of Pediatric Therapies at St Luke’s University Health Networks.
