Cincinnati – Cincinnati Police Department mourns the death of one of their own. According to reports, Cincinnati Police Officer Olivia Zick passed away after committing suicide on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at East Fork State Park, which is mostly located in Batavia Township, Ohio. “Officer Olivia Zick was a kind and compassionate Police Officer that cared deeply about helping others in the communities she served”, said Chief Theetge.
Many people are unaware of the fact that Officer Olivia Zick saved 8 lives several years ago by donating her organs. A stranger receives a kidney from a selfless donor. If that stranger knew of someone else who was willing to donate but wasn’t a match, that person would donate their kidney to another stranger, which would then trigger a chain of donations from additional strangers. She really was a hero in a lot of ways.
Officer Zick’s family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Brandon Reynolds a friend of Olivia Zick wrote on Facebook, “My heart is broken. I just heard that my dear friend, Cincinnati Police Officer Olivia Zick, passed away yesterday. Olivia was one of the most caring, unselfish, and empathetic people that I have ever met.
Brandon added, “The world may have lost an amazing soul this weekend, but we will never forget just how amazing she was, and how she always put everyone else’s needs ahead of her own. I love you Olivia and I will never forget just how special you were.”
