Eric Welch, A Springfield, IL, resident sadly passed away

Springfield, IL – Eric Welch, a longtime resident of Springfield, IL unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023. Dan Welch, Eric’s little brother announced his death through the giant social media Facebook. The cause of death had not been released yet. “This is Eric’s brother, Dan Welch. It is with a heavy heart to tell you all that my big bro, my best friend, and my everything has passed away. May you find your peace, my brother. Eric loved you all and thanks for being in his life.” Dan wrote.

Who was Eric Welch?

Eric Welch was a lifelong resident of Springfield, the state capital of Illinois. Downtown, the interior of the Illinois State Capitol’s large dome is decorated with stained glass and statues of historical figures. He studied at Lincoln Land Community College and furthered his studies at the University of Illinois at Springfield. Eric was a Nose Whistler at Nose Whistling, an instrument above the philtrum. 

Chris Rhoades also a resident of Springfield wrote, “RIP Eric Welch. Thanks for all you did for the SOHO music festival, and for making me laugh. I will always remember you, for that. My heart goes out to his family.”

Funeral arrangements will be officially released by the family.
