BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Just after midnight today, a shooting took place near Battle Creek Avenue and Capitol Avenue SW. Battle Creek Police are requesting public assistance. Jack Snyder, a 17-year-old student at Battle Creek Central High School, passed away at the event.
At 12:10 a.m. today, a 911 call was made reporting gunfire at Battle Creek Avenue and Capitol SW and a shooting victim named Snyder who had been discovered in the road next to his car. Battle Creek Police officers entered the scene at 12:11 a.m. and discovered Snyder.
Snyder was given life-saving care by LifeCare Ambulance and the Battle Creek Fire Department, but they had to tragically declare him dead on the spot. Before the bullets were fired, two unidentified individuals were spotted in Snyder’s car. They may have fled the car after the shootings, running south toward Capitol SW and East Goguac Street.
Subject descriptions:
The person had long, untidy hair and was sporting a black and red jacket. The second wearer had a ski mask-style headgear and a black jacket with white spots.
Authorities are requesting assistance from the public to identify these people from the automobile. Please look at any home security camera footage you might have from between Thursday night at 11:30 p.m. and today morning at 1 a.m. if you live in the general neighborhood.
