NEW YORK – A brand-new, high-end SUV’s driver perished when the car sank. On Wednesday, just after 3 p.m., the Nassau County Police Department received a report of a white item floating in the ocean near 175 Roslyn West Shore Road in Port Washington. Police discovered that the object was a BMW X3 SUV from 2023.
The Emergency Services Unit for Nassau County was able to remove it from the water. The body of a 54-year-old guy was also discovered in the water. His identity was not immediately made public. It wasn’t apparent whether he purposely drove into the water or whether there was another issue.
The inquiry, according to police, is ongoing.
Ned Dubofsky Death And Obituary
Ned Dubofsky’s death is suspected to be due to the car accident at Hempstead Bay off of North Hempstead Bar Beach in Port Washington, which resulted in one fatality on Wednesday.
It’s uncertain, though, if Ned Dubofsky was one of the victims who perished in that incident. It is unknown who the victim was and why he drove the SUV into the lake. Given that there is a boat ramp, it was unusually deep there, according to Jennifer DeSena, the North Hempstead Town Supervisor.
She continued by saying that it was a very sad turn of events to be there on a lovely day, observing all these wonderful first responders but preparing for a tragedy.
