Mark McCants, An employee at DC Public Schools sadly passed away

Canton, Ohio – Mark McCantsm, a longtime resident of Washington D.C. and an employee at DC Public Schools unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, February 19th. Mark was a wonderful father to Trae and Bentley, a wonderful husband to Tara, and a wonderful friend to so many. He was a pillar in the lives of so many people, and will always be remembered and cherished. At the time this article was published, we were unable to confirm Mark McCants’s cause of death. A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help Tara LaCroix McCants with all of the unexpected and unforeseen expenses that she’s faced with. 

Mark McCants was born and brought up in Canton, Ohio, He went to Central Catholic High School and is happily married to Married to Tara LaCroix McCants. Mark was a wonderful father to Trae and Bentley. He worked at the District of Columbia Public Schools, the local public school system for Washington, D.C. It is distinct from the District of Columbia Public Charter Schools, which govern public charter schools in the city. 

Ryan Edward, a resident of Columbus, Ohio took to Facebook to mourn the passing of Mark McCants. He wrote, “Heaven grew bigger in size by an angel. Mark Mccants, you will be missed more than you will ever know. You were a fantastic friend and our friend group will not be the same without you.”

He added, “We created a GoFundMe to help Tara LaCroix McCants with all of the unexpected and unforeseen expenses that she’s faced with. Please find the link below if you’d like to donate.”

Funeral arrangements will be officially released by the family.
