Pittsburgh, PA – Tim Texter a longtime resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who devoted his life to hockey as an ambassador, a player, and a Referee sadly passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Tim Texter passed away while reffing a game this morning, despite the immediate efforts of first responders, he, unfortunately, passed at UPMC Passavant in Cranberry. Over the years, Tim has worked on various passion projects, but his family was by far his biggest love. This awful and unexpected loss is being mourned intensely by Christina, Gino, and Nicolina.
Carmen Muto Bauer, Tim’s sister-in-law took to Facebook to mourn the passing of her sister’s husband. Carmen said that Tim was committed to providing for his family, indulging Nicolina, and enjoying the time he had to travel to Ohio and other places to support Gino as he developed his abilities as a goalie for a top hockey club. A Gofundme campaign has been created In honor of Tim “Tex” Texter
Tim was a huge supporter of the Pittsburgh Hockey community, and was always willing to properly sharpen skates, nurture players, and offer advice. He loved the game and encouraged others to love it as well in his pick-up leagues, Texter Cup, and the infamous Turkey Bowl played each thanksgiving day.
