Maryville, IL – Whitney Brooke (Enlow) Zavaglia, age 39, of Maryville, IL, born March 11, 1983, in Conroe, TX, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Whitney was a special light in this world. Her inner beauty showed through to anyone who met her, and her strength was found in her personal relationship with Jesus Christ, her Lord, and Savior.
She served the Lord in life by pouring into the lives of those around her, especially other women. She cared deeply for the individual needs of each person she knew, eagerly sharing encouragement, guidance, and resources whenever she believed it would benefit them. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard W. Enlow; father-in-law, Angelo J. Zavaglia; and her grandparents: Grayson and Virginia (Valera) Enlow, David and Anna Brooke (Shaw) Meagher, and Fred and Betty (Godwin/Yohe) Brown.
On February 24, 2018, Whitney wed Mark Steven Zavaglia, the love of her life. He is still around to preserve her memory. When Mark and Whitney met during a Bible study known as “Bible Party,” God began to write an incredible love story for them. Every experience Mark and Whitney had in the past—both happy and painful—was used by God, the potter, to shape them as He equipped them to love and serve one another well. They prayed that God would use their marriage to draw people back to Himself. Gia Brooke Zavaglia, who was recently given to them by God, is a symbol of the love he has for each of us.
Others left to carry on her memory are her mother, Maryla Meagher of St. Louis, MO; her mom, Nancy Enlow of St. Louis, MO; two brothers: Nathan (Courtney) Arndt of West Melbourne, FL and Brett (Brandi) Arndt of Webster Groves, MO; mother-in-law, Judith Zavaglia of Collinsville, IL; sisters- and brothers-in-law: Natalie (Matt) Prsha of Chesterfield, MO, and Todd (Dawn) Zavaglia of Maryville, IL; nephews: Beckett Arndt, Ryan Prsha, Dominic (Brooke) Zavaglia, Chad Prsha, and Scott Prsha; and nieces: Beritt Arndt, Evalee Arndt, Leora Arndt, and Taylor (Colin) Fuhrmann. In addition, she is survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
There won’t be any public viewings. On February 25, 2023, at Christ Church, 339 Frank Scott Parkway, Fairview Heights, Illinois, a public funeral ceremony will be performed. followed by a private funeral.
