Audrina Patridge is in mourning after the death of a relative. The Hills alum delivered the heartbreaking news that her 15-year-old niece Sadie has passed away on Instagram on February 14. No cause of death has been made public. Audrina opened her message, which was accompanied by a number of old pictures of Sadie, with the words, “My heart bleeds to even type this.” “My lovely niece has since entered heaven. Although I am aware that this isn’t a permanent goodbye, saying good-bye for now is the toughest.”

Casey Patridge Loza, Audrina’s sister, and Sadie’s mother, also lamented the tragic loss. She wrote, “Sadie Raine Loza has departed this Earth for the heavens.” The toughest thing I’ve ever had to do was write this. While acknowledging her lack of appropriate words, Casey shared a lesson Sadie likes to frequently remind her of.
Energy cannot be generated or destroyed; it can only be transformed from one form to another, according to the first law of thermodynamics, or the Law of Conservation of Energy, she wrote. Death is not a better term than transformation.
Casey added, “Her story will save countless lives, and her memory will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace you brilliant starseed.”
News of Sadie’s passing comes a week after Casey shared a look into her daughter’s 15th birthday celebration. At the time, she posted space a video of Sadie blowing out her candles while surrounded by loved ones.
“i cant believe you’re 15,” Casey wrote on Instagram on Feb. 5. “it feels like the years flew by and we still have so many more adventures to go on! aliens in Sedona, portals, learning to drive in the desert hahah.”
Casey painted a picture of their shared ambitions as well as Sadie’s legacy. “Youre so beautiful, kind, smart and funny!! that dryyy af british humor tho,” she continued. “im so proud to be your mom.”
