Kellie Pickler’s husband and songwriter Kyle Jacobs passed away. He was 49. Jacobs’ death was being looked into as an apparent suicide, according to a statement from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department provided to The Hollywood Reporter on Friday.
A residence on Sneed Road in the West Precinct of the police department made a 911 call to Nashville’s Department of Emergency Communications at 1:21 on Friday, according to the statement. “Officers and members of the Nashville Fire Department responded and discovered Kyle Jacobs, a resident, dead,”
The statement continued, “Mr. Jacobs’ wife, Kellie Pickler, reported that she awoke a short time earlier, did not see her husband, and began looking for him. After she and her personal assistant were unable to open the door to the upstairs bedroom/office, the assistant telephoned 911.”
After a few years of dating, mutual acquaintances introduced Jacobs and Pickler, who got hitched in 2011. Jacobs co-wrote Tim McGraw’s “Still” as well as Garth Brooks’ 2007 number-one hit “More Than a Memory.” His songs have also been covered by Trace Adkins, Jo Dee Messina, Craig Morgan, and Scotty McCreery, among others.
