Palestine, AR – Randy Gwathney, a convicted killer who was accused of killing his mother-in-law and grandparents-in-law on February 13, 2007, has passed away. Gwathney’s death was made known according to an online source on Sunday, February 19, 2023. The cause of death is currently unknown to the general public. The family of Randy Gwathney has not yet released a statement.
After visiting his estranged wife, Lisa Reeves, and fighting with her, Randy shot the three people. Even though Lisa managed to flee her attacker and report him to the police, the majority of her family was killed that night. Travis Reeves, her brother, and a police officer were fired at by Randy many times, leaving them both gravely injured.Following his capture a few hours later, Randy was accused of three first-degree murders and two attempted murders. At the trial in November 2009, he was given a life sentence with 40 years of supervised release. Randy is reportedly doing his time at the Varner Unit in Lincoln County, Arkansas, according to The Cinemaholic.

Investigation Discovery‘s season 4 of Evil Lives Here: Shadows of Death took up Randy’s monstrous action in its episode that was scheduled to air on Sunday, October 9, 2022.

Randy Gwathney and Lisa Reeves were wed, however, their union did not survive long as they decided to part ways in 2001. Lisa was considering filing for divorce, but she was unable to do so, according to an inquiry into the murders. The examining officers did not come across any supporting documentation to support the same.

At Palestine, Lee County, Arkansas, Lisa moved back in with her mother Sylvia Reeves and grandparents James Oliver and Evelyn Elise. Lisa’s father passed away in 2006, one year before the attack.

A fight over money broke out when Randy showed up at Lisa’s home on February 13, 2007. When Sylvia tried to intervene, her son-in-law shot and killed her. Lisa managed to flee and make a 911 call, but she lost both of her grandparents, and her brother Travis was shot numerous times and is in critical condition.

Meanwhile, police officer Tracy Jackson was also injured when he tried to intervene in the shootout that had ensued between Randy and Travis. Randy left the site of the attack and fled only to be nabbed later.
